Child protection: Pembrokeshire council's final warning

The Welsh government had sent a group of experts to Pembrokeshire last year when there were several accusations of child abuse. It is however the final warning for not safeguarding the children. They lock children up in rooms without any windows and there are also accusations that they tie their hands. Conservative education spokeswoman Angela Burns, the AM for Carmarthen West and South Pembrokeshire ‘’ said having seen the time out room at the PRU in Pembrokeshire and heard evidence from children about other schools I fail to see how the use of a time out room can be deemed appropriate in this day and age." Ministers said on Tuesday that progress has been "worryingly slow" and that they have "grave concerns" about the authority. There has been given a deadline on 22 June to wait what Pembrokeshire councils have to say before ministers tell them what kind of actions they have to take.

It is really terrible that a council is not doing anything to solve these problems. They are responsible for the safeguarding of these children. How is it possible that these schools can lock children up and tie their hands?  There is no law that says that a school has the permission to lock children up in a room without any windows or tie their hands. It is definitely not allowed to do that! I am wondering how the parents reacted when they found out about what they are doing with their children at school. I think that the council has to come with strict rules for those schools and if they do not keep to those rules there has to be a good punishment!
