Elderly patients win right to sue if medical treatment is denied because of age
Elderly patients have to get the same health and social care as someone at a younger age in the same condition. Unfortunately this does not always seem to be the case. Elderly patients are not getting the same treatment as someone in the same condition that is younger.
If someone or their relatives has got the feeling that they did not get the same treatment as someone that is younger and in the same condition as they are they can sue the health managers.
Michelle Mitchell, of Age UK, said: "Discrimination based on your date of birth is as indefensible in 21st-century Britain as prejudice on the basis of race, gender, disability or sexual orientation’’.

I think that everybody deserves to get the same health and social care they need. It doesn’t matter how old you are. A doctor has to save peoples life and not treating people different, because of their age. A doctor has to look at the condition of the patient instead of first looking at the age before treating someone. So if elderly patients do not get the treatment they need I think that they have to be able to sue health managers. Even though age discrimination is illegal it still happens unfortunately. Elderly patients need more treatment, so I think that they have to get the best treatment there is!

  1. I think it's lame that elderly people don't get the same treatment as younger people. They may be older, and have a shorter life ahead of them, but, in my opinion, they should still be able to get treatment. People are people!
